On 10 April 2024, on the Wednesday of the fourth week of Great Lent, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine and hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church prayed at Saint Panteleimon Convent (Feofaniia), where the Primate’s residence is located, before the beginning of the work of the Holy Synod of the UOC, the Information and Education Department of the UOC reports.
The divine service was held at All Saints Church. The Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts was celebrated by Metropolitan Clement of Nizhyn and Pryluky, a permanent member of the Holy Synod and the head of the UOC Information and Education Department.
At the Litany of Fervent Supplication, prayers were offered up for peace in the Ukrainian land and for its authorities and army. The hierarchs also asked the Lord to have mercy on our people, save the desperate and those who had lost their homes, and bless people of good will helping those in need.
The divine service ended with a veneration of the Precious Cross of the Lord.
The first meeting of the Holy Synod in 2024 will be held today.
We remind that the previous meeting of the Holy Synod took place on 26 December 2023.
